Type foundry P22 has announced the availability of two historical font sets, both created by Frederic Goudy: the Goudy Aries and Woodtype sets.

The Aries set includes one of Goudy’s arts and crafts styled faces, a font known as Aries. The font was originally created by Goudy for a private press in Eden, New York in 1926. Also included in this set are two decorative fonts: one font of 52 decorative Ornaments and one font that contains 52 Ampersands.

Woodtype is a set of four fonts based on 19th Century American wooden printing types. Woodtype Regular is a condensed Tuscan styled font with a lower case and full international character set. Woodtype Small Caps is a variation of the regular with small caps in place of the lower case. Woodtype Extras One & Two feature over 150 decorative borders, stars, pointing hands and other decorative embellishments.

Both font sets are available to purchase from www.p22.com, priced individually at $23.95 (around £13) or are available as a combination set for $39.95 (£22).
