D&AD has launched its first online entry system for the D&AD Student Awards, also known as the Student Yellow Pencil. Entries for the 2008 awards are accepted from this week until March 20.

A range of advertising and design briefs from real-world brands can be downloaded from www.dandad.org/studentawards08. Challenges range from creating a direct online campaign for The Army to directing a music video for Bob Dylan; from creating an animation for HSI London to designing a new product for the kitchen for Lakeland.

Nominations will be announced in early June. All nominated students and tutors will be invited to the Student Awards 2008 Ceremony in London later that month.

Categories include: Animation, Create a character, HSI London; Copywriting, If Only I’d Listened More Carefully, Ogilvy; Graphic Design, Hamley’s 250th Anniversary, Hamley’s; Graphic Design, FUSE Magazine, Research Studios; TV Advertising, Belu, Weilands; and Illustration, Identity, Paul Davis.
