Olympus has launched two 'ultra-zoom' camera, with the new flagship model offering a 30x wide optical zoom with a 28-840mm focal length.
The SP-800UZ (below) is designed to let creatives shoot images from even further away. The help maintain focus and sharpness, the camera features two types of image stabilisation and a 14-megapixel sensor.
A high-speed shooting mode allows capture at up to 10fps. The camera also includes a 2GB of internal memory -- with an SD card slot for boosting storage further -- a three-inch LCD in :9 format, an in-camera manual, an a new scroll dial, for controlling the camera.
It's new little sister, the SP-600UZ (above) has many of the same features, but with a 15x optical wide zoom (28-420mm*), 12mp sensor, 2.7” LCD and 1GB internal memory.
Tthe Olympus SP-800UZ and SP-600UZ are available from March 2010 for around £315 and £220 respectively.
