The C9000 series from OKI is the first colour LED printer from the company to go beyond 20ppm, entering an arena that OKI believe will become the largest sector of the printing market in the next three years.
The C9000 series offers up to 21ppm for colour A4 printing or 11ppm for colour A3 printing. It can also print in mono at 26ppm for A4 and 14ppm for A3. It can also print oversize A3 pages.
The printer is built around OKI’s single-pass colour digital LED technology that delivers printing at a resolution of up to 1,200-x-1,200dpi on paper up to 200gsm (art stock). It includes a 64-bit PowerPC processor at either 400 or 480MHz. It offers 128MB to 320MB of memory as standard (depending on model chosen), though this can be upgraded up to 1,024MB for workgroups. These specs are enhanced by OKI’s Multiple and Exclusive Graphic Accelerator (MEGA), which boosts RIP, colour processing and colour management speed.
The C9000 series also offers form overlays. Regularly-used graphics such as logos and letterheads can be downloaded via the storage device manager to an optional hard drive, which they can be produced instantly when needed – speeding up print jobs.
The printer connects to computers using a USB or parallel interface – or to networks using an optional Ethernet card. It includes a 550-sheet A4/A3 paper tray plus an 100-sheet auto paper feeder, a 500-sheet face-down paper stacker (with job offset for easy separation of documents) and a 100-sheet face-up paper stacker. This can be increased through options including a second 550-sheet paper tray and either a third 550-sheet tray or a high-capacity feeder for 1,650 sheets – which increases the capacity to 2,850 sheets.
The C9000 series costs from £4,399 plus VAT.
