Boris FX, current owner of the Media 100, has announced a Road Map for that brand’s video editing software and hardware. It sees the end of Media 100’s proprietary hardware, with a new line of products being based around capture and acceleration hardware from AJA.

border=0 /><BR></div> </p> <p> The new line feature three products: Media 100 HD Suite, Media 100 HDe and Media 100 SDe. </p> <p> Media 100 HDe is, as the name suggests, an SD and HD NLE that allows editor to mix multiple input and output sources and file formats. Older material in Media 100 format can be mixed with multiple QuickTime codecs and native DV content in the same timeline in real-time, according to Boris FX. Other features include a multi-track timeline, advanced keying and a motion alpha channel that is real-time in SD and accelerated in HD. </p> <p> Media 100 HD Suite adds Boris Red for integrated 3D compositing and motion graphics. Media 100 SDe is SD-only, but can be upgrade later. </p> <p> Pricing for the systems begin at $2,499 (around £1,400).
