Announced nearly a year ago at Siggraph 2000 in July and slated for release at the end of last year, the latest version of BorisFX’s 3D compositing and titling plug-in suite Boris Red is finally shipping. With Boris Red 2.0, users can now export straight to Macromedia Flash and QuickTime from within the host NLE system, or by using the standalone Boris Red 2 Keyframer, which lets animators and editors re-purpose video titles and paint animations directly onto the Web. Other new features in version 2.0 include integrated vector animation tools for fast animated graphic creation with complete keyframe control, motion tracking and image stabilization, bézier rotoscoping for creating moving mattes, EPS import extrude and warp and a text warper. UK pricing for Boris Red will be announced next week.
