2d3 has released a version of its boujou motion tracking software that works within Autodesk's Maya 3D animation software.

Moujou is aimed at two markets, according to 2d3. It's designed to appeal to smaller studios who don't want to invest in the much more expensive boujou three, and it allows 3D artists at larger studios to track data directly if boujou operators are swamped with work.

2d3 says that the plug-in uses tools familiar to Maya users. It uses the same core tracking technology as boujou and features the ability to import image-based masks and smooth camera paths. Data created in the plug-in can be saved out in boujou three or bullet format if further work is required.
Moujou costs £460 plus VAT and runs under Windows XP.
