The first-ever public demonstration of Alias|Wavefront Maya 3 for Mac OS X has been penciled in for Macworld San Francisco on January 8, 2001. Maya is the only high-end 3D modelling and animation product due for release on the Mac, according to the company, and will have the same core features and pricing as its Windows and Unix counterparts. "We are very excited to be able to offer the Mac community their first glimpse of Maya on the Mac," said Alias|Wavefront director of Maya technologies Richard Kerris. "The feedback we're getting is that Mac users are anxious to get their hands on Maya as soon as possible, and we plan to give them more information at the show about when they can expect to see Maya for Mac OS X on the market."
