Matrox has released RTMac with Adobe Premiere 6.0 – a real-time editing bundle for the Power Mac G4 range. Previously, RTMac was only available as a real-time solution with Apple's Final Cut Pro. RTMac is based on Matrox's Flex 3D technology, says the company, enabling it to deliver broadcast-quality effects and 32-bit, uncompressed, animated graphics in a dual-stream, native-DV editing environment.
RTMac lets editors work with three layers of video and graphics in real-time, says Matrox, and broadcast-quality effects can be created instantly, without rendering. The system includes analogue video capture and output, which works with FireWire capabilities of the power Mac G4. Finished projects can be recorded to video tape, and RTMac offers dual-screen editing out of the box.
Shipping now, RTMac costs £835 plus VAT, while Premiere 6.0 users can upgrade to RTMac for £699 plus VAT.
