MatchWare has announced Mediator 8, an update to its multimedia software which includes a new interface design, multi-user editing, advanced spell checking, vector drawing, an enhanced multimedia catalogue and wizards.

Mediator 8 can be used to create interactive CD-ROM presentations and multimedia content for use in e-learning, kiosks, intranets and on the web, MatchWare claims, and it supports most bitmap, vector, audio and video formats.

The new multimedia catalogue allows users to visually enhance projects by dragging and dropping professional interface templates, resizable buttons, vector based illustrations and dynamic video players, the company claims.
</p>

Another new function is multi user editing which enables multiple users to work on the same project simultaneously with file locking to prevent conflicts.
</p>
<p>
A vector drawing tool adds the ability to create custom objects, add to existing templates and create dynamic content for use in Mediator projects. The latest release also now includes export to Flash, HTML, Auto-run CD-ROM, .exe files. 
</p>
<p>
A demo of MatchWare Mediator 8 is available now for Windows machines only. The full product will cost $399 (around £220).
