Purgatory Design has announced that Intaglio, a new drawing and illustration application for Mac OS X is now in beta testing. Based on the original Mac drawing applications, Intaglio is designed to be intuitive to beginners and familiar to traditional Mac users, according to Nick Nallick of Purgatory. It builds on the 2D-graphics, text, colour, and scripting capabilities of Mac OS X, such as Quartz 2D graphics, Apple Type Services, AppleScript, ColorSync, and the QuickTime image layer, he added. Intaglio can be downloaded and used without registering, but drawings can’t be saved until the application is registered. Pricing hasn’t yet been announced. Intaglio requires Mac OS X 10.2.
