Excalibur has announced what it claims is the first XML-based standalone video logger. Screening Room Capture, which can also be used as part of the company’s Screening Room end-to-end solution, can capture a wide-range of data from video. The product uses multiple subsystems to capture close-captioned text, video analysis and spoken word into text. It turns all of this data into XML format, which can then be used by any system that supports the standard.
