LaCie has introduced their 321 monitor, a 21.3-inch LCD display that provides a colour gamut equivalent to a CRT, the company claims.

The 1,600-x-1,200 resolution display features 500:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness, and viewing angles of up to 176 degrees. The 321 display features a DVI and a 15-pin d-sub analogue connector.

LaCie claims the monitor displays 72 per cent of NTSC video standards gamut and features 10-bit gamma correction. It offers a 0.27mm dot pitch and a response time of 20 ms. Horizontal scan frequency is between 31.5 and 91.9kHz, vertical scan is between 50 and 85 Hz.

It’s possible to rotate the screen to portrait mode, using Pivot software with PCs running Windows, or Mac OS X machines equipped with an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card.
</p>
<p>
The screen will be available worldwide in November. UK pricing hasn’t been released, but the monitor will retail for $1,699 (around £950) in the US.

The company also introduced <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.digitmag.co.uk/news/index.cfm?NewsID=4519" rel="nofollow">an 800GB LaCie Ethernet Disk and new external Serial ATA hard disk drives</a>.
