LaCie has introduced the LaCie Data/Share, a USB device for quickly and efficiently accessing data from SD and microSD memory cards.

Customers can insert their SD and microSD cards into the corresponding LaCie Data/Share slot and instantly create an USB-ready storage key, or quickly access their SD and microSD card information says LaCie.

Available in a distinctive two-piece red and white design, the two delineated sides of the Data/Share help users organise and prioritise their data promise LaCie. Users, for instance, can choose to keep their personal data on one side, while using the other side for shared data.

Both sides offer speedy USB transfer rates of up to 480MB/s, and are backwards compatible with USB 1.1.

Created exclusively for LaCie by the award-winning 5.5 designers firm, the LaCie Data/Share recently received a 2009 iF product design award by the iF International Forum Design.

Compatible with Mac, Linux and PC computers, the LaCie Data/Share is available now through the LaCie Online Store at the suggested retail price of £9.90 (US$14.47).

In addition to its cross-platform compatibility, the Data/Share is compatible with all the latest SD and MicroSD cards -- Class 1 to 6 SDHC or microSDHC cards adds LaCie.
