iView has announced a new version of MediaPro, its professional media management software, now compatible with Windows as well as the Mac OS. iView claims that MediaPro helps streamline workflows in film, video and photography by managing and organising very large volumes and types of digital files.
In addition to cross-platform support, iView claims that MediaPro 2.5 features an improved user interface, enhanced folder and file management, and new Adobe XMP support.
iView MediaPro creates media catalogs, holding up to 128,000 different files such as graphics, photos, audio, video, illustrations, HTML, and fonts. Users can configure the catalog based on filing systems that suit their work environment and already established workflows, according to iView.
Single or multiple files can be easily converted, tagged, and edited. iView MediaPro supports over 100 different file formats, including professional digital camera standards. Users can easily create custom slide shows, Web galleries, movies, catalog layouts, and contact sheets to distribute and publish their media quickly and easily, the company claims.
iView MediaPro is available for Windows and Mac for around £100 plus VAT from the iView Web site. An entry-level version, iView Media, is also available for around £25 plus VAT.
