Illustrator Sarah Coulston has won the first Refresh Award of the New Arrivals – an illustration exhibition organized by The Coningsby Gallery and Association of Illustrators (AOI).
Sarah Coulston won the exhibition award of £1,000 for her piece 'Artemis' – her interpretation of the curators’ brief 'Create an image that conveys/depicts the vitality and importance of 'the new' in society as you see it'.
In her piece 'Artemis', Coulston explored emerging new paradigms regarding women in the 21st Century celebrating good, strong, modern woman who have achieved a lot. Sarah was one of 11 shortlisted illustrators invited to exhibit commissioned and newly created work in the New Arrivals exhibition held at The Coningsby Gallery from 17 to 23 September 2006.
