Video-titling company Inscriber used the International Broadcast Convention (IBC)here in Amsterdam to reveal a swath of new character-generation tools for video artists. The four new products - Inscriber CG-FX, Inscriber Live!E-clips, Inscriber Live!RTX, and TitleMotion - add more features, such as 3D effects and the ability to work with live broadcasts. Headlining the launches is CG-FX - a real-time animation and 3D effects package for post-production and live-to-air broadcast. Inscriber says it incorporates broadcast-quality CG, real-time motion effects, alpha-aware logo creation, and event sequencer, and a template tool. Live!E-Clips is a video playout tool for the capture and playback of clips and live video, says Inscriber, with tools for media management. Live!RTX is a high-end tool that lets users mix streams of dynamic data and live video. The result, says the company, is a titling solution for television channels that deal with financial data, home shopping, weather, and news. It includes a simplified programming interface, active graphics layering, and flexible video-clip playback. Finally, TitleMotion is now available as a plug-in for an increased range of non-linear editors running on Windows 2000, Me, and NT. It includes over 200 pre-designed templates, 200 new text styles, transparency, a blur filter, spell-checker, and text on a path. It is available for Adobe Premiere, Avid MCXpress, Discreet Edit, DPS Velocity, IMC Incite, in-sync Speed Razor, Media 100 iFinish, and JVC Timegate. Pricing details are not yet known.
