Handheld device maker Handspring has begun selling its Treo 180 communicator, a combined mobile phone and PDA, throughout Europe, the company announced.
Handspring is making its Treo 180 and 180g devices available in the UK, Germany, France, Sweden and Norway through various mobile-phone operators, store outlets and localized versions of the Handspring Web site, the company said in a statement Monday.
The PDA is designed to work over GSM/GPRS mobile networks and uses Palm’s operating system, Handspring said.
In the UK, mobile-phone operator mmO2 PLC retails the Treo for £299, when it is bought with a connection to its BT Cellnet service, Handspring said. Without the BT Cellnet connection plan, the UK version of the Treo will cost £499, the company said.
