Formac has unveiled its first flat panel display with the launch of the Gallery 1740 - a 17.4-inch (viewable) thin film transistor (TFT) active-matrix display.
The Gallery 1740 offers a resolution of 1,280-x-1,024 and delivers 16.7 million colours in wide colour gamut. It comes with a wall-mountable attachment and screens can be adjusted by a small hinge at the back.
The Gallery 1740 is available in two formats. The first is the ADC model that eliminates the need for a separate power cable while carrying text, graphics, power and USB signals to the display
via one single cable. Two USB ports at the back allow for the connection of additional peripherals such as hubs, scanners or printers. The second model is the DVI / VGA option, which allows for connection to PCs and older generation Macintosh systems. An external power supply is provided with the DVI / VGA option.
Available now, the Gallery 1740 ADC display costs £619 plus VAT and the DVI / VGA option costs £649 plus VAT and will start shipping from mid November 2001.
