Epson has launched the Perfection V600 Photo, billed as an energy-efficient scanner for photographers.

With 6400dpi optical resolution and 3.4DMAX optical density for film scanning, the V600 has promises low power consumption for maximum efficiency and no warm-up time for instant scanning.

The V600 features a built-in Transparency Unit (TPU) that supports full panoramic medium format film. Users have the ability to create digital archives from photos, 35mm filmstrips, mounted slides and medium format full panoramic film -- 6-x-22cm.


The Epson Perfection V600 Photo costs arouhd £225 plus VAT, and will be available from 5 October 2009.

Epson Scan software has been upgraded and now supports and Snow Leopard and Windows 7 the company said.
