Easypress Technologies has announced the latest version of its QuarkXPress-to-XML software, Atomik. Version 2.0 significantly reduces the cost of repurposing print content for the Web and other electronic media says the company. Atomik allows users to extract the content of an entire QuarkXPress document, including tabular data in a single pass. New in version 2.0 is the automated image extraction so users no longer have to manually associate images with text-based content. Other new features include an enhanced Ruleset Manager for faster and easier configuration of documents for the XML extraction process and new visual indicators let users quickly see which styles have and haven’t been configured. Also new is Atomik’s ability to handle a variety of publication layouts automatically – users can select from default or reverse box ordering and combine this with inline boxes, grouped items or even use dividing lines to specifiy the order in which Atomik extracts content. Atomik 2.0 costs £4,995 for a single user-licence. Multipacks are also available.
