Digit magazine's first online reader poll has closed - with a massive 856 people voting on which Web-based video streaming solution they use. Readers could vote in a face-off between Windows Media, Real Player, Apple QuickTime, and DivX.
The winner - capturing a whopping 38 per cent of the votes (330 votes) - was Apple QuickTime, which pipped the second-placed Windows Media Player by a full eight per cent (30 per cent). Third place went to market-leader Real, which won 22 per cent on the votes. Final place went to newcomer DivX, which with six per cent of the votes cast, marks an impressive debut for the codec.
