Dell has announced its first mobile workstation based around Intel's Santa Rosa platform. The Precision M4300 is aimed at creative professionals across design and animation, and costs from £699 plus VAT.

The Precision M4300 includes the latest Intel Core 2 Duo dual core processors and nVidia discrete graphics expected to provide up to 110 percent improvement in graphics intensive applications such as computer aided design and digital content creation.

The use of dual-channel memory with 36-bit addressing allowing customers to use all 4GB of system memory, according to Dell. Hard drives options include solid state and encrypted hard drives provide speed, reliability and security.

The laptop features a TrueLife display that is up to 10 percent brighter than older displays, according to Dell. The M4300 also supports fast 802.11n networking.
