This Wednesday (April 30) is the deadline for a graphic design competition launched by The Times and HarperCollins, inviting UK-based designers to design a cover for a new edition of JG Ballard's iconic 1973 novel Crash.
Six entries will be shortlisted, with Ballard himself making the final selection of the winning design. This design will be used on the cover of a limited-edition version of Crash, to be published later in the year.
All designs must be 197mm x 129mm in size, and include the book title, the author's name, the Harper Perennial logo and the following quote: ‘A work of very powerful originality. Ballard is amongst our finest writers of fiction’ Anthony Burgess.
Entries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, posted on the competition's Flickr album or posted to: J.G. Ballard design competition, Times Online, Times House, 1 Pennington Street, London, E98 1TT.
