Daz 3D has released a freely-downloadable public beta version of Daz Studio 3 Advanced for Mac OS X and Windows. The next version of the free 3D character posing and animation software includes high-end tools and advanced export features, and for the first time will see the debut of a paid-for version.
The public beta can be downloaded from the Daz Studio 3 Advanced webpage. There's also a video detailing some of the new functions.
The full version of DAZ Studio 3 will ship June, and will be available in a free 'standard' version, and an Advanced version for $149.95 (around £97). Daz says that the Advanced version is for "the serious 3D artist" amd "will help them take their 3D art and animation further than DAZ Studio has ever allowed before."
New tools featured in the beta version of Daz Studio 3 Advanced includes an animation keyframe editor, a Figure Mixer, Map Transfer, Morph Follower, a Shader Baker, a Shader Builder, and a Shader Mixer. There have been improvements to the preview of scenes using OpenGL, and to the rendering engine. Export controls have been extended through support for the Collada format.
