Concrete has just completed four new 60-second Top of the Hour promos for BBCNews 24. They feature news correspondents including Matt Frei, John Simpson, Kate Silverton and Natasha Kapinski.
RedBee Media Director Mark Chaudoir shot the new footage on location in London, Scotland and Washington. The promos are broadcast on the hour on BBC News 24 daily as the familiar 60-second clock count down prelude to the hourly news programme. These promos are amongst the most played on television going out over 8,000 times a year and have a large fan base on You Tube.
Creative Head of News, Sally Bowness and Production Manager, Emily Simpson from RedBee Media produced the project. Senior Offline Editor at Concrete, Matt Hall cut the promos in Avid. Concrete’s David Cox graded the piece to give it an edge and realistic appeal using Mistika. Matt Hall has just won the Gold US Promax Award for his editing of Equator directed by Mark Chaudoir.
RedBee Media Director, Mark Chaudoir states: “This project has always been challenging to showcase BBC News Global Newsgathering and correspondents in as many locations as possible. There was a considerable amount of footage and Matt Hall did a brilliant job at editing to make the new Top of the Hours look different and fresh. I’m delighted with the final edits and the grading in Mistika by David Cox at Concrete.”
