Discreet has released the first service pack for its Combustion 2 compositing suite. Service Pack 1 is available for the Windows and Mac (both OS 9 and OS X) versions of the application. The pack includes many fixes for bugs within Combustion 2, including internal problems and compatibility issues. The Mac OS X version of the application now supports OS X After Effects plug-ins and OS X TinderBox filters. TGA files created in Pinnacle Commotion now load properly in Combustion 2, as do Maya IFF files. According to Discreet, stability has also been improved in the colour correction (especially within Color Suppression), 2D/3D compositor, garbage mask, paint, particles, rendering, schematic and text modules – plus within the LUT editor and the Footage and Keyer operators. Service Pack 1 can be downloaded from the Discreet Web site.
