Maxon has made the OS X betas of Cinema 4D and BodyPaint 3D available for download from the company’s Web site. Both can be downloaded freely and work with the public beta of Apple’s new OS. However, neither adds any new features.
Cinema 4D is a 3D modelling, animation and rendering tool that is currently available for Windows and Mac. BodyPaint 3D is a texture-painting tool that allows you to work on surfaces at any step in the production process. It works within Cinema 4D or as a separate application to work with all major 3D tools.
The betas were first shown at the Macworld 2001 show in San Francisco. No release dates or prices for the OS X versions have yet been announced.
