Olympus has released the Camedia C-3020 Zoom, a three megapixel camera that costs only £499 including VAT. Until January 31 2002, purchasers will also get a free 64MB SmartMedia card. The C-3020 offers a CCD with an effective resolution of 3.2 million pixels and a bright (F2.8), 3x zoom lens (equivalent to 32-96mm on a 35mm camera. The optical zoom is backed up by a 2.5x digital zoom. Five scene modes are included as standard: portrait, sport, landscape, night scene and motion picture. Other features include through the lens (TTL) metering and focusing, auto bracketing and exposure compensation functions, seven flash modes (such as first and second curtain synchronization and fill-in), iESP auto white balance, and adjustable exposure and white balance settings. The camera also includes a USB AutoConnect feature for fast and straightforward picture download.
