CAD2 has releases its latest line of computer graphics workstations and render systems, named the VX. The company describes the model as an ultra high performance digital content creation system that's designed to radically improve both the design workflow and creative rendering pipeline for today’s leading creative professionals.
The VX line features ‘3rd Generation’ AMD Opteron quad-core processors and available with either four or eight chips, which allows for up to 32 cores in a single system. It features AMD's 1GHz Hyper-Transport technology and sipport for up to 128GB of Dual Channel DDR2 Memory.
The chassis supports up to 8TB of hot-swappable hard disk storage and features dual PCI-Express 16x graphics slots. It features three gigabit ethernet networking ports and 7.1 surround sound digital audio.
The workstation is available running Windows or Linux.
