The winner of Levi’s Digital Arts Award (LDAA) has been announced as Jesson Yip from the University of Lincoln, England. Jesson’s entry was chosen as the winner by the public from a shortlist of five entries from across Europe, beating the nearest other entry by 23 per cent.
The winning entry can be seen on the Levi Europe Web site. The brief for this year’s competition was to represent the Levi 501 Jean and its ‘anti-fit attitude’. Jesson’s entry is a series of four short but very entertaining interactive animations based on the number ‘501’.
Jesson, half-way through his Graphic Design degree and specialising in screen based design, said: “The reaction to the work was very rewarding, it received a lot of positive feedback, it's great to know that your work can put a smile on someone's face”. Jesson wins an iBook and a short internship at Lateral, Levi Europe's design agency.
