Following the release of Apple's Intel-based Mac Pro workstation last week, Avid has announced that it will be shipping compatible versions of its video editing software by December.

Both Xpress Pro and Media Composer will be released in Intel-native form, along with support for their associated hardware.

Avid's audio division Digidesign will release an Intel-native version of Pro Tools 7.2 in September, with versions of Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-Powered following in December.
