Heralding the event with the battle cry “The digital revolution has only just begun,” Apple is to run a series of European roadshows aimed at revealing the power of digital video. The UK event will be held in London, and is free to Digit readers. Hosted in partnership with Sony Broadcast & Professional, the conference will be followed by a series of seminars and workshops that will showcase the latest innovations from Apple and video production companies. The roadshow will cover DV in broadcast and DVD through to delivering streamed video over the Internet with Apple QuickTime. Other Apple products and technologies, such as FireWire and FinalCut Pro, will feature. Numerous workshops feature for the event, including DV editing studio set-up and tips for DV editors, DVD authoring , MPEG compression and encoding, plus a strong focus on Web publishing, including real-time and stored video streaming. Even better, LaCie will be providing the chance to win one of its rather cool pocket hard drives. The PocketDrive is a palm-sized hard drive that weighs less than a pound. The show, hosted by Apple, will take place on February 24, 2000 at the QEII Conference Centre in London. Other exhibitors include Pinnacle, Astarte, Sonic Solutions, LaCie, Sorenson, Sony and Digit.
