Apple has updated the iBook range, with the fastest-ever 1.33GHz model and the cheapest-ever model for £749, adding built-in AirPort Extreme across the line.

"These are the most affordable and fastest iBooks we've ever offered. We really think the iBook is the obvious choice for the digital life on-the-go," Apple’s David Moody said.

The new iBooks are available now from the Apple store. They all come with 256MB of SDRAM, expandable up to 1.25GB, AirPort Extreme wireless networking and new PowerPC G4 processors.

The 1.2GHz, 12-inch model comes a 30GB Ultra ATA hard drive and a slot-load Combo (DVD-ROM/CD-RW) drive and costs £637 plus VAT.

The mid-range 1.33GHz, 14-inch model has a 60GB Ultra ATA hard drive and a slot-load Combo (DVD-ROM/CD-RW) drive and is price at £765 plus VAT.

The high-end 1.33GHz 14-inch includes a 60GB Ultra ATA hard drive and a slot-load SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW) drive and will sell for £893 plus VAT.
