Passion Picture's director Gaelle Denis has scooped the Jury's Special Award for her film City Paradise at Annecy 2005, Passion has revealed. Annecy is the world's largest animation festival, held in France. The film was exclusively featured in Digit in January -- Premium members and magazine subscribers can read it here

City Paradise was commissioned by Channel 4 Television as part of the Artist in Residence (AIR) Scheme and was first broadcast in November 2004. Since then it has been screened at more than 30 festivals. The film was nominated for Best Short Animation at BAFTA 2005 and won the Innovation Award at Aspen Shorts 2005.

Gaelle Denis was born and educated in France. She completed a MA in Animation at the Royal College of Art, London in 2002 and her RCA graduation film Fish Never Sleep won a BAFTA for Best Short Animation in 2003. Gaelle Denis lives in London and is represented for commercials and music videos by Passion Pictures.

Director Darren Walsh also won the TV Special Award for Angry Kid “Who Do You Think You Are?”, a half hour special for BBC Television. The film was produced at Aardman Animations where the Angry Kid series was made. Darren Walsh signed with Passion Pictures for commercial representation in 2003.
