Eovia has released an update to its Amapi 3D application. The new version, 6.1 – available as a free download from the Eovia Web site – adds support for Macromedia's Flash and Shockwave3D technology. Amapi 3D offers high-end 3D modelling tools such as NURBS and polyhedral constructions, multiple extrusions and sweepings, Coons and Gordon surfaces, smoothing tools, chamfers and Boolean operations. The latest version also sees the ability to publish content using Amapi's own 3Space Web 3D format, which provides the ability to create behavior normally found in 3D game engines, such as animated particle effects, explosions, gravity and collisions. According to Eovia, the update will also features some bug fixes.
