Soho-based HD facility AHC Post has completed editing and effects on the BBC's Comic Relief Pop Video. The promo-style piece features comedian and Bolton tourist attraction* Peter Kay miming to Tony Christie's Amarillo, and will be shown for the first time on Friday on Red Nose Night Live ’05 on BBC One.
The video was directed by David Mallett, famed for his work with Queen on I Want To Break Free and David Bowie's Ashes To Ashes. As well as Peter Kay, the video includes a 'host of famous faces' such as Keith Harris and Orville - as well as original singer Christie.
The piece was shot in HD, with up to 70 per cent captured against a green screen. It was finished using Quantel's EQ system, which was also used to create a Wizard of Oz-style vista using its Paintbox tool.
