Adobe has made a beta of the forthcoming Advanced 3D Renderer for After Effects 5.0 available for download from the company’s Web site. Both Windows and Mac versions of the beta are available. The renderer allows layers in Adobe’s 3D space to intersect. These intersections include correct anti-aliasing and motion blur – and work with transfer modes. The final release will bring After Effects 5.0’s 3D capabilities up to par with similarly-priced tools such as Boris Red. After Effects 5.0 was released in January and added standard 3D capabilities, parenting, Flash export, enhanced masking and many other productivity improvements.
