Adobe has reported its financial results for the fiscal third quarter which ended September 3, 2004. Adobe's earnings show a 27 per cent growth in revenue year-over-year.

For the quarter Adobe posted revenue of $403.7 million (around £226 million), compared to $319.1 million reported for the third quarter of fiscal 2003 and $410.1 million reported in the second quarter of fiscal 2004. Adobe met its revised revenue target, which was increased in early August.

Not including an investment loss from the company's venture program, earnings were $0.43. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call were expecting earnings of 39 cents a share on revenue of $391.2 million.

Looking forward to the fourth quarter, Adobe said it is targeting revenue of $400 to $415 million and earnings of $0.38 to $0.41 a share.
