Adobe has released Photoshop Lightroom beta 4.1, a new public beta version of its post-processing software for professional digital photographers. It’s available for download from Adobe’s Web site.
Still in active development by Adobe for both Mac OS X and Windows but available for free download to registered users, Photoshop Lightroom lets photographers import, select, develop and showcase digital images. The company has released Lightroom to elicit product feedback from the photography community before Lightroom is officially released.
New features in the beta 4.1 release include a reworked user interface, enhanced exposure and tone curve controls, file renaming and Digital Negative (DNG) conversion within the Library module, improved Slideshow, Web and Print modules, CD and DVD authoring capabilities, improved search and filter functionality, and the ability to share files and edits between Photoshop Lightroom Libraries.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later, 1GHz G4 or faster (including Intel), 768MB RAM, 1GB or more hard disk space.
