Getty launches subscription stock image service, Thinkstock

Getty Images has launched Thinkstock (www.thinkstock.com), a new image subscription service that it says is aimed at 'value-conscious creative professionals'.

Thinkstock offers millions of select royalty-free images, vectors and illustrations from three of its brands: Getty Images, iStockphoto and Jupiterimages. The collection combines both user-generated content and professionally art-directed images. Getty says that each week, Thinkstock will add thousands of new, premium images, all of which have been reviewed against strict legal standards.

The monthly or yearly subscription options, priced at $249 and $2499 respectively, grant customers access to the entire library of Thinkstock images with downloads of 25 images per day, up to 750 images per month. Additionally, Thinkstock will soon offer multiple-shot image packs, with prices ranging from $59 - $999, which are aimed at for customers with smaller budgets or who require imagery for a specific project.

Unified Color has announced that HDR PhotoStudio, its High Dynamic Range software package formerly available only on the Windows platform, is now available for the Mac. The software is compatible with Intel systems running Leopard and Snow Leopard and requires at least a 2.5GHz dual core system with 2GB of RAM (4GB is recommended).
