Canada's beaver fever

Frank & Gordon, two cuddly CG beavers created by Buzz Image Group for Bell Canada's advertising campaign, have taken Canada by storm.

border=0 /><BR></div> </p> <p> Canada has gone beaver crazy… for a couple of computer-animated beavers named Frank and Gordon, that is. The stars of a current ad campaign for Bell Canada, the cute, cuddly creatures have quickly become a national sensation. </p> <p> A recent poll by a Canadian radio station found that 89 per cent of the country’s citizens wanted to see more of the furry rodents, making them Canada’s most popular celebrities. </p> <p> The team behind Frank and Gordon are from Buzz Image Group, a Montreal visual effects, production and graphics design studio, which produced the ads for Bell Canada’s agency Cossette Communication Group. </p> <p> “This campaign has been a unique opportunity for Buzz – it may be the biggest CG advertising campaign ever produced in Canada,” explained Buzz executive vice president Benoit Drouin. </p> <p> “Our staff has enjoyed working on it, and it has helped us to grow our animation unit.” The Frank and Gordon phenomenon has taken everyone involved by surprise. The project began last year when Cossette asked Buzz for help in producing a test spot. </p> <p> <div class=inlineimage><img src=@digital_arts on Twitter.
