Call it convergence, call it fragmentation, the next generation of TV is here, and it’s all online. VH1, the TV music channel, launched its on-demand broadband channel, VSpot, in July 2005. The service lets users create playlists of VH1 shows, outtakes, clips and extras – and watch them when they want.

VH1 asked New York-based branding company CA Square to create a suite of 30-second spots to promote the new channel both online and on TV. It had been working with VH1 on other projects for about a year, so the choice was a natural one, says CA Square’s executive creative director Carlos Ferreyros.
