<p>
Drawing inspiration from the hush-hush, super-secret world of futuristic military aircraft, US design studio yU + co designed and produced the main title and end credits for Columbia Pictures’ new action film Stealth.
</p>
<p>
The title sequence consists of a travelling shot through clouds – as if seen from the cockpit of a fighter plane. A series of text graphics swoop through the frame, providing details of the film’s back story about an elite team of Navy pilots. A shape that could be a stealth aircraft then appears on the horizon and moves swiftly toward camera.
</p>
<p>
As it comes into focus, the silvery object breaks apart to form the letters of the title. Three real stealth fighters then appear and burst through the type. The tension inherent to the sequence recalls the tag line used in the film’s marketing campaign, Fear the sky.
