Clarity is key to Jeff Knowles’ contribution to 3 Minutes.
“The transcript I received was powerful, personal, and important, so I wanted to communicate that message in a simple way,” he says.
For his booklet Knowles decided to pull out key words and provide relevant information relating to them.
“The reason for doing this was to react to China’s information censorship,” he says. “I kept the information purely factual — that way people can create their own opinion based on the first-hand account and the factual information.”
Knowles kept the overall layout simple and legible, but threw in subtle hints at Tibetan culture.
“For example, in the background is the sunburst from the Tibetan flag,” he says. “The colours are referenced from the Dalai Lama’s robes.”
