As unlikely as it sounds, Swiss Typography is the subject of a new documentary film, Typecast, showing at an independent film festival in New York:

Typecast discusses the history of Swiss design through a novel use of video and playful motion graphics. In a series of interviews, Swiss typographers and designers from across the globe share their insights about the history and direction of current design. Now, viewers will have the rare opportunity to meet select famous designers up close and personal.

Directed by Kethryn Cho, the film includes interviews with the likes of Ludovic Balland and Helmut Schmid.

As interesting as it sounds, Typecast seems an unlikely candidate for the local multiplex...
