Released at the beginning of October, Precious is the first single from Depeche Mode’s eagerly anticipated new album Playing The Angel. Written by Martin Gore and produced by Ben Hillier of Doves and Blur fame, the new single is a slight departure for the kings of electro-pop.

It features smooth, hypnotic vocals, which are perfectly complimented by the surreal, dream-like visuals of the accompanying video.

Shot on location in London in June, the video for Precious was directed by Uwe Flade. Having previously worked on an earlier video for the band – Enjoy the Silence 2004 – along with videos for Dave Gahan (Bottle Living), Franz Ferdinand (Michael) and Gomez (Silence), Flade was invited onto the project by Mute Records and the band itself.
