In 2000, London-based visual-effects house Double Negative provided the visual effects for a film directed by David Twohy called Pitch Black. Launching the career of actor Vin Diesel, who played the lead role of enigmatic anti-hero Richard B Riddick, the science-fiction adventure became the sleeper hit of the year.

Four years on, the Double Negative team is back in partnership with Twohy and Diesel, providing bigger-budget visual effects for the sequel to Pitch Black. Set five hundred years in the future, The Chronicles of Riddick sees our fugitive hero Riddick on the planet Helion Prime, home of a progressive multicultural race.
