Rushes has created a wealth of VFX for The First Men In The Moon, a new TV film based on HG Wells' sci-fi story that was written and stars League of Gentlemen's Mark Gatiss.
Akihabara Majokko Princess is an anime-flavoured short film starring Kirsten Dunst, directed by Terminator Salvation helmer McG, and featuring art direction from the Takashi Murakami.
Rushes has produced their own version of the J Arthur Rank title sequence to introduce this year’s short film festival. The film was conceived by Paul White and directed by Trevor De Silva.
Serious Pictures director and DOP John Pardue completed this latest instalment, the third in a series of recent commercials also posted at Rushes, for Hyundai Motor Europe. The pan-European campaign highlights their new car range and in this commercial the spotlight is on the i30 model.
Utilising the ‘giant’ imagery established in the previous commercials where large unexpected objects are juxtaposed within the environment to underline the emotional attachment we make with our cars, this commercial switches the emotional focus to value for money.
The i30 approaches a roundabout where a large, modern architectural glass sculpture of a Euro sign dominates. Driving shots are juxtaposed against and refracted through the Euro sign which was created by Rushes’ Craig Travis using Maya and Renderman, with VFX Artist Matt Jackson carrying out clean up and compositing to the Euro on all driving shots.
Tony Kaye has directed a series of Lucozade Sport commercials for its Evolution campaign with Rushes creating over 100 VFX shots for it.

Rushes’ Matt Jackson describes the process, "All of the backgrounds were shot on 16mm at high speed. Tracking markers were placed in the scene to allow us to extract the camera data, these were then removed in Flame. The jewels and petals were generated using Maya’s particle system, with a proxy dress animated to match the movement of real fabric.
