Hornet cuddles up with Passion Pictures
The representation agency for directors Hornet has formed an alliance with the production company Passion Pictures, with Passion exclusively representing the US-based company's directors in Europe. The arrangement between the two companies will also allow Passion Pictures directors to utilize Hornet’s resources while working with their many US-based clients. The initial launch will include representation of stop motion/mixed media director Peter Sluszka, music video/commercial animation director Monkmus, and iconic character-based comedy director Aaron Stewart, among others. Peter Sluszka, who was featured in Creativity Magazine’s November 2006 Directors to Know Now issue, just completed a portion of the eBay holiday campaign via BBDO and is now in production on a campaign for Footlocker/NIKE. Monkmus continues working with Sony, recently completing the first round of UK PSP “Dustball” spots via TBWA/ London. He is also known for his music video direction and has received numerous awards for his work on Badly Drawn Boy’s Year of the Rat. Aaron Stewart is well known in the commercial and animation world for his work with VH1 and MTV, ranging from the unlikely pairing of heavy metal and Passover in the humorous show open for Matzo and Metal, to the droll styling of the square burger in a round world for Wendy’s.

Passion Picture's director Gaelle Denis has scooped the Jury's Special Award for her film City Paradise at Annecy 2005, Passion has revealed. Annecy is the world's largest animation festival, held in France.
